Become a Speaker

Thank you for your interest in speaking at Open Boston. We’re looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and about youth ministry (or education) and have something to say about that.

We love from-the-trenches talks where youth workers share what’s working for them, provided this can be applied to other contexts as well. We’re also looking for research-based talks, where folks share findings that are relevant for working with teens. Then again, we’re also fond of surprises, so if your proposal is a little out of the box it may just be perfect!

The perfect talk is a mix of information and interaction, with plenty of opportunity for questions and sharing. You can be as ‘tech’ as you like, but we’re also fine with old fashioned hand outs or something similar.

You don’t need to be a ‘big name’ in youth ministry to speak here, on the contrary. Open Boston is a place where the local and regional youth workers get a platform to share practice-based ideas. We want to learn from you! That also means that if we get more proposals than we have speaker slots, we will give preference to speakers from the region.

And just so we’re clear: no one gets paid to speak at Open Boston. That’s not who we are. For more info on the vision for Open, check out the Open manifesto. Thank you for your interest in speaking at Open Boston.

The speaker proposal deadline is November 15th.

  • What ministry are you affiliated with or representing? While not required in order to speak, it helps us to know.
